Vidal Baboon

Well, the Baboons were allowed out of their cages and back in to the Studio once again this weekend, sadly minus ‘The IG’ but he shall return imminently!

Along the way we seem to have found quite possibly the missing corner of the Vidal Baboon sound! So here is a sample of the awesomeness by way of a cover of Alkaline Trio’s Radio.

Well can you believe it? it’s been a almost a year to the day since your internets were rocked by Vidal Baboon.com coming in, drinking all your fine ale and puking all over your nice new sofa. Oh how the time has flown and how little we’ve done.

But fear not, there is more to come, you keep supplying the ale and we’ll keep drinking it and making fools of ourselves. While you restock the fridge, here is a sample of what’s to come when we actually put some effort in!

You lucky people. A first hand glimpse of the Ghetto Studio, a naked drummer, half a guitarist… and MY HAND! Now with 75% extra Cursing Concrete! It can mean only one thing, yet another Baboon cinema-graphic masterpiece.

Finally an update for you, yes we are still alive and rocking hard n’ fast. The rumors of our demise were greatly exaggerated!

So whats new? We’ve got lots of new tracks on the way and we’ve also managed to capture another guitarist to add to the fold. He is deeply Indie but he seems be getting over it =P

In honor of this we have commemorated his joining with a few short tracks, one of which is aptly titled ‘New Guitarist’ enjoy!

Welcome to Baboon’08! We’ve just settled into our very own Getto Studio now so we have our own little place to make lots of noise in. Hopefully that means that we’ll be able to subject you to more of our noise pollution in the near future.

We’ve got some great stuff on the boil, some actual serious attempts at music for a change but we haven’t quite got it to the point of showing it off but rest assured it’ll happen in the not to distant future. In the mean time some more sillyness for your ears…

We’ve got two really old tracks, ‘Brains’ was probably the first ’song’ we ever wrote as a ‘group’ and was quite an achievement for us then so this is more of a tribute to it really. And the other one is a song that we did at the beginning of last year when we first got a half decent recording setup. Updated and re-recorded in glorious ‘Baboon Tech’ Stereo. You may noticed a re-occuring theme… Enjoy! (if you can)

Maybe we drank too much after making these, it seems we forgot to post them. We did a few more but they feel too unfinished to post. You need to ask yourself one question…. Do you drink or do you die?

After kidnapping “Stif Stuf” guitarist - Neal, we jumped into the practice hut and recorded a nice cover of Rumbleseat’s Cursing Concrete. Jazzed up with dual guitars, gritty Steve-o styled vocals and Kristoff’s usual brand of naked drummerness. Enjoy..

We Lied!

An old song we haven’t posted yet for no real good reason, so here it is!

A couple of tracks from last weekends session, a smooooooooth cover of The Misfits classic “Die, Die My Darling” and a new song that marks our first foray in the world of cheese metal \m/, by the name of “Vicki, Death Rider!” Rock on!

There were some other cover tracks from that weekend that rocked so goddamned hard that we feel bad classing them under a ‘weekend sessions’ banner. And there is also another new track that is going to be posted on here soon. Stay tuned Baboons!
